I have had this jacket for a year and am very pleased with it. Warm in any weather and superb quality with that classic look. Excellent.

  3. David B

Very pleased with the flying jacket. I had the sleeves lengthened, so it fits better than anything off the peg. Looks expensive and has a real weight of quality, and feels like it will last for years. Good job, British Sheepskin!

  4. Rich

My flying jacket is excellent, the quality of the materials and attention to detail cannot be bettered in my opinion and it can be made to your size and specifications. I have had mine for a few years now and it really does get better with time and wear, I cannot recommend it highly enough. Great British workmanship by people who have great skill and care about their products, thank you.

FAB…CHOCKS AWAY AS SOON AS THERE’S A NIP IN THE AIR. Absolutely agree with all the other comments, so, so pleased with it. When ordering I would err slightly on a larger size to be on the safe side, X Large is normally ok for me but I thought with the thick lining that I would take a chance and go for XX Large…right decision.

  8. JAman

It is difficult to explain how amazing this jacket is and how amazing it looks when I wear it.

I have been meaning to write a review but I was too busy admiring it.

It was a custom measured jacket to authentic specs with no pockets.

I highly recommend British sheepskin for there work and service.

    Absolutely exceptional.

Can’t quite believe how good the RAF Flying jacket is. The craftsmanship and materials are phenomenal and I couldn’t be happier.
Gary was also excellent in answering all my questions and accommodating all my wants and I just couldn’t be any happier. Definitely wouldn’t use anyone else for all sheepskin products.

Just received my RAF flying jacket. Superb quality jacket and is as close to an original ww2 jacket as you could ask for. Fits great and really looks the part. Bought it to wear on my Motyo Guzzi cafe racer and can’t wait to try it out

  17. Callum (verified owner)

Simply the best jacket I own. True craftsmanship. I had to send mine back originally as I needed some tailoring done to it, it was delivered back to me fast and now it fits like a glove.

The stitching is top notch, the wool and leather is obviously 100% genuine and it has a lovely weighty feel to it.

I would recommend these folks to anyone if you’re after a proper sheepskin jacket. It doesn’t get better.

I have been wanting to buy a flying jacket for many years but never found the right feeling for a company to feel like I needed to complete my purchase (a present from my wife). Finding a British company was a deciding factor in choosing them. I have received my jacket and I am pleased to say that it is everything that i have wanted in a flying jacket. It is superbly made. I also from that wanted a pair of sheepskin mitts made of the same material and they have duly obliged. It will not be the last purchase that I will make. Thank you so much Gary and Joe.

  19. Steve Rogers

I made arrangements to go and visit this company as I wanted a bespoke flying jacket that actually fits. I needed a 52”+ with longer sleeves to ride my bike. I already have a genuine 1943 and a replica from another company that no longer fit. I travelled the three hours on November 22nd and met with Gary who did my measurements. He also agreed to make me two flying hats…..one for me and a small one for my grandson….Really nice people. Two and a half weeks later I got the call saying they were ready. Amazing. He was willing to post them but I decided on another day out to collect them. All I can say is everything is perfect…..he picked out a fantastic skin and made me the bespoke jacket and hats……..really thick and very soft skin.

I’m not sure why there are negative reviews as Ive had excellent communication via e mail and telephone from Gary and Jo…..I got a bespoke jacket in under three weeks during busy winter months…….quality is excellent…….and worth every penny for a one off, exact copy, quality RAF heavy duty jacket.

Gary and his team make to order so generally there’s a turn around time…….but if you want quality product that will last a lifetime there’s only one choice…..buy from these guys…..you won’t be disappointed…

Not cheap, but worth every penny! Jo answered all of my questions before I ordered and kept me informed as my order was created. I was genuinely worried as I opened my parcel, would it fit well, suit me or live up to my expectations, given the price and I had wanted one for nearly 20 years, but I had never tried one on.
Oh wow, it is incredible. Beautifully made and incredible quality. I’ve had it a month and it seems to be getting more luxurious all the time and I never want to take it off. I had doubts and nearly didn’t buy, I am so glad I took the plunge. If you have doubts, I would say just do it, I honestly do not think that you will regret it!

  21. Evan

Please be advised this review concerns the “aged” jacket.

Initially ordered a L but it was a bit larger but the company were very helpful, I sent it back and received a Medium.

This is the warmest jacket I have ever worn, it’s very well made, with a nice substantial weight so you know from the beginning it will be seriously warm!

The price is not high if you consider the quality of the material and the craftsmanship. Highly recommended!!

  22. Mick Beards

This is a review for the aged flying jacket I have wanted one for years and thought my birthday this year was right time so I ordered it and it arrived on my birthday I am more than pleased with it the quality is first rate and the fit is perfect. If you are looking for. Quality and first call service then this is the place you will be over the moon as I am and it will get better with age like a good wine. Go on treat your self you only live once. Thank you British Sheepskin

  23. Dean Gibbs

This my second jacket from the company, and it is great. Gary made me a short version and it fits like a glove. Good value for a jacket that will last a lifetime, feels luxurious.

  24. Stewart Stapleford

OMG !!!!,, I am over the moon , my jacket arrived today.
The workmanship alone is on another level let alone the quality of the material.
I have searched high and low for a GOOD jacket but nothing compares to this.
Not as thick as I thought but you don’t need it, -10 without wind chill here and I had to remove my jumper so I didn’t get too warm.
If you’re umming and ahhing about getting one, don’t, buy it, you will never regret it.
Gary and team, hat off to you all.

  25. Malcolm Chadwick

My wife ordered me a RAF flying jacket in antique with brown wool wanted one for about 30 years ordered the longer length it arrived yesterday 17 Jan it is quite simply stunning quality fits really great and impeccably made so good that I am ordering a Russian shepherds hat to match. All I can say is if you are not sure just go for it you will not be disappointed.

  26. Luca Dobusch

This is my review for the RAF Flying Jacket, which I received this week.

I don’t know how I got into the idea of purchasing one – probably by seeing some old movie about WWII and it unconsciously seeped into my mind – but after a quick search I found this company and, if you too are looking for a great jacket that also embodies the spirit of true craftsmanship, well, look no further.

The jacket looks great and feel superbly – it looks quite sturdy, too.

I went for the antique brown and after receiving it I gave it a conditioning with lanolin (wool fat), which made it quite darker but improved its capability to repel water.

After reading a review from a previous customer, I also went for a bigger size – being an M I chose Large and it was the right choice, so keep that in mind.

Highly recommended if you want something of value and if you appreciate traditional craftsmanship.

    Thank you from Italy.

I bought this jacket as a 21st birthday gift to myself. I’m a huge history buff and to have an authentic style WW2 bomber jacket is awesome!

The jacket itself is made from the highest quality skins with impeccable craftsmanship.

This jacket will last me my lifetime with good care but now I just have to figure out how to care for it 😀

This is a fantastic jacket. It’s warm enough for winter but not so warm that you can’t wear it around spring time with it open. It looks really, really good.

If you’re in the market for an extremely high quality garment steeped in history, look no further.

  28. Laurence Maddison

Wow! I’ve wanted a jacket like this in my collection for years and it doesn’t disappoint, rugged, warm, beautifully crafted and oh so stylish.

When it comes to picking a flying jacket there’s a few brands that offer an authentic recreation of the iconic spitfire pilots jacket, but IMO the British Sheepskin Company is the one to go for based on all the options they offer. I wanted Brown/White with the slightly longer body but with regular length sleeves and Gary was more than happy to do this for me, he also advised me that because I’m between sizes that I should go for the smaller of the two options, which was definitely the right move as had I gone for the size I thought I needed it would have been far too big.

One thing I didn’t expect is just how warm this type of jacket is. If you like your designer puffer jackets but want something smarter (and different to what everyone else has) this is a great alternative as it’s just as warm. But being real sheepskin there are some limitations, it is a touch on the heavy side which I personally like although some will find it cumbersome, and given how variable a UK winter can be you’ll need other jackets and coats to rotate it with as it isn’t even slightly waterproof and will be too warm for milder days.

Style wise, it’s a proper statement piece and has a real sense of occasion to it, but if you don’t like attention this is not something you’ll enjoy wearing. With that huge fluffy collar it’s anything but subtle and will attract lots of interested looks, and some will feel compelled to ask what it is and where it came from, it may be an iconic style of jacket but it’s not one you see very often, at least not proper ones like this. It’s not a difficult item to wear and is actually very versatile but you have to wear it with confidence to really pull it off. Get it right and you’ll give off the effortlessly cool and rugged vibes of Tom Hardy in that five guys photo (look it up).

So, overall I’m very happy with my new jacket and I only wish I’d bought it sooner. One general suggestion I have is to perhaps add a sheepskin Pea Coat to the range?
